Catfish Feed Bins

September 14, 2023

Catfish Feed Bins on Paulette Road Noxubee County Mississippi

Fall is creeping ever closer and with that harvest. It’s my favorite time of year. I love to just ride around the county looking and taking pictures. I was out the other day and decided to take my Fuji Instax Mini Instant Camera and take some pictures. These are catfish feed bins. Off to the side are commercial catfish farming ponds and these store the feed for the fish. A truck can drive under the bin, hit a button and it fills a hopper up in the bed of the truck. You then drive around the levee of the pond while a motor blows feed out for the catfish to eat. Pretty cool to watch. Catfish has been a huge part of Noxubee County’s agricultural landscape for decades. It’s big enough we have our own catfish processing plant in town.

Hope everyone has had a good week, until next time.
